Hello, thanks for asking: What’s the Difference Between the Rev4 and Rev2.5 Systems?
The main difference between the Rev4 and Rev2.5 systems is the size of the distributor tube used inside the tank:
-
Rev4 systems use a 32mm distributor tube (approximately 1-1/4" in diameter), which allows for slightly higher flow capacity.
-
Rev2.5 systems use a 28mm (1.05") distributor tube, which is the standard size used in most residential systems.
The programming, electronics, and functional features are identical between the Rev4 and Rev2.5 systems. Both models offer the same control capabilities, setup interface, and performance features.
Bypass Valve and ConnectionsBoth systems use the same bypass valve with standard 1-inch pipe connectors, so there's no difference in plumbing compatibility.
AppearanceThey look very similar. The Rev2.5 system is slightly more compact overall but otherwise has nearly the same exterior design.
LED DisplayYes, both models use the same LED display, with no difference in appearance or functionality.
If you’re deciding between the two, the choice usually comes down to flow rate needs and tank size compatibility. The Rev4 is better suited for larger tanks and higher flow applications, while the Rev2.5 is ideal for standard residential setups.
