Yes, correct, this is exactly what globe valves are useful for. This type of valve works better than ball or gate valves for regulating flow.
I want to reduce flow rate to my storage system from my well pump and a ball valve is noisy. Will this work better? Stainless Steel Globe Valve 304 SS 1" Stainless Steel Ball Valves
The well pumps at 10 gpm and the recharge rate is more like 1 gpm.
